Saudi Arabia: SASO 3114:2026 Replaces CITC GEN-002 for ICT Equipment

πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦ The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued SASO 3114:2026 β€” Requirements for Specific ICT Equipment, replacing the previous SASO CITC GEN-002 specification referenced under the Technical Regulation for Communications and Information Technology Devices.

Products in scope may include mobile phones, tablets and computers, mobile routers, CPE and cellular IoT devices.

Key Transition Dates

  • 1 November 2026: mandatory application of SASO 3114:2026 β€” all new certificates must comply with the new standard.
  • 31 March 2027: certificates and shipment certificates issued under GEN-002 expire β€” recertification required to keep market access.

Manufacturers and exporters should review their product portfolio, track GEN-002 certificates and plan recertification and testing before the November 2026 deadline.
